On Thursday July 26th Join us on the 3rd floor of the RCHA building from 4pm to 6pm for the launch of Dorothy Farr’s new book ‘House Beautiful’.
Since Dorothy moved to Kingston in the 1970’s, she fell in love with the livable and walk able scale of the city and with the heritage buildings in the city’s core.
She gradually discovered the terra cotta decorations that enhance the exteriors of some of the 19th and early 20th century buildings of the city, along with the decorative tiles that grace the interiors of many of those buildings. This book explores the tiles and terra cotta architecural details in Kingston. We will take a short walking tour led by the author to see some of the nearby terra cottas followed by a book signing and light refreshments at the RCHA
Guests will have a chance to win a free copy oft he book.
