Remarkable Point Frederick, a Walk through Canadian History. Image of Point Frederick from the sky showing whole point a blue water around.

In 2022, the Frontenac Heritage Foundation was successful in obtaining funding from the City of Kingston Heritage Fund to assist Dr. Robert D. Banks in publishing his book ‘Warriors and Warships: Conflict on the Great Lakes and the Legacy of Point Frederick’.
In the fall of 2022, Bob conducted a fascinating walking tour of Point Frederick. A book launch was held in February 2023 at City Hall to celebrate Heritage Week. Then in the fall, FHF members Sue Bazely and Bob Banks were interviewed by David McCallum of Lightstruck Film and Media for a video to record a walking tour of the point. The 23-minute video combines videography with historical images, along with drone imagery by Darren Keuhl of Razor Aerial Productions.

The video will give you a look back in time to life on Point Frederick before the Royal Military College was established. Enjoy this accessible tour sponsored by the FHF of one of Kingston’s best kept secrets – Point Frederick!

Come out on April 24 to see the premiere of the video at the Screening Room. Sign up for a 3 or 4 p.m. show at PointFrederick.eventbrite.com
