Jane’s Walks in Kingston

Get ready to walk.  Jane’s Walk Weekend 2025 is Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th May.  This year Jane’s Walks Kingston has an excellent program of 20 different walks including 10 new walks.

Join a walking tour showcasing our liveable, walkable City. Jane’s Walk was founded in Toronto in 2006 by a group of Jane Jacob’s friends and colleagues, as a way to honour her life and activate her ideas. The website below details all the varied walks – there is something for everyone! Some of the heritage-related walks include:

  • Friday May 2,11 a.m. – Barriefield Walk. Craig Sims

  • Saturday May 3, 2 p.m. – Portsmouth: Shipwrights and Quarrymen. Marc Seguin
  • Saturday May 3, 3 p.m. – William Street. Peter Gower
  • Saturday May 3, 4 p.m. – The Evolution of Old Sydenham Ward. Dr. Carl Bray

  • Sunday May 4, 10:30 a.m. Grenville Park: Creating a Co-Operative Neighbourhood. Dave Axford, Sue Chamberlain, Susie Everding
  • Sunday May 4, 12:30 p.m. – The Memorial Centre: From Loyalist Land Grant to Community Hub. John Grenville
  • Sunday May 4, 1:30 p.m. – Finding the Lost – A Few Cemeteries. Dr. Susan Bazely
  • Sunday May 4, 2 p.m. – Kingston’s Inner Harbour Maritime Heritage and Current Political Issues. Mary Farrar
