222 Johnson Street
222 Johnson Street is one of many buildings which was protected under Pt. IV of the Ontario Heritage Act, as an individual building before the Old Sydenham Heritage District was approved in 2015. The large three bay, two and a half storey limestone building was built in 1860 by Dr. J. R. Dickson. The entrance in the east bay has a semi-circular arched transom. The corners of the façade have projecting bevelled ashlar quoins. All windows have six over six double hung sash and louvered shutters. The building’s owners were given an award by the Frontenac Heritage Foundation in 2022 and much more information is provided in our awards section.
