2802 Pine Grove Road
The one and a half storey house is located on Concession 8, lot 23, and dates approximately to 1850. Based on original surveys of the area, the land was owned by a man named John McKendry, who arrived in Canada in 1841. The structure has been repointed, and on one side, completely rebuilt as one of the building’s walls which had a bulge in it. The beautiful sandstone is a rich colour, and limestone was used as contrasting material. The chimney was rebuilt and the interior foundation in the basement was repointed. The building’s owners were given an award by the Frontenac Heritage Foundation in 2022 and much more information is provided in our awards section.
